BOSSIER CITY – Hayden Peshoff capped an exciting afternoon with a line-drive single to center field in the bottom of the ninth inning, sending the Bossier Parish Community College Cavaliers to a dramatic 9-8 walk-off win Tuesday afternoon against University of Arkansas Rich Mountain.
In addition to the game-winning hit, Peshoff delivered a clutch bases-loaded double earlier in the contest that helped BPCC erase a deficit and set the stage for the late heroics. He finished the game with 4 RBIs.
The Cavs racked up 13 hits in the victory, seven of them for extra bases. James Reina smashed two doubles, Gianluca Montanaro launched a towering home run over the center-field wall, and Riley Kwak and Braylin Harris each collected two hits in the offensive explosion.
On the mound, former Calvary Baptist standout Judd Funderburk made a strong start for BPCC, working 4.2 innings, striking out two, and allowing just one earned run. Aiden Domingue came out of the bullpen and earned the win, recording the key outs in the top of the ninth and give the Cavs a chance to walk it off.
With the victory, BPCC improves to 14-6 on the season. The Cavs go on the road Wednesday for a Region 14 doubleheader against Panola College.
